Wrexham 2 : 2 Sheffield Wednesday
Wrexham earned their first points of the campaign on Saturday as they battled Sheffield Wednesday 2-2
The Red Dragons scored two goals in the first half (Kieffer Moore 15', 31') and were seemingly heading toward their first Win in the Championship since 1982. However, defensive woes continued for Wrexham and they ceded two goals in the final third of the match. Granted, the first was a deflected cross that fell kindly to Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan which he then blasted into the back of the net.
Wrexham narrowly avoided defeat as the Owls mounted a 3-on-2 charge in what was to be the final effort of the game. A brilliant save from Danny Ward is the only reason that Wrexham is not sitting even further down in the Table, though there were several bright spots on defense today from the likes of Max Cleworth.
This is the second time in three matches that Wrexham led heading into the final 30 minutes and could not seal the deal. At 0-1-2, they currently sit at 19th place and continue to pursue that elusive first win.
